Joy Albrecht, Vice Chair

I moved to Aiken from Michigan in 2004 and know that I am very fortunate to have found such an ideal location to live.

Professionally, I was a trauma nurse for most of my nursing career and then spent two years working with hospice locally. I now own and restore historic properties in and around Aiken.

I joined the SPCA board due to my commitment to and love of animals. I want to help give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. My love of animals, especially rescues, comes from my mother who is an extremely dedicated animal lover. Her devotion to unwanted animals and their plight was an important part of our childhood. (Thank you, Mom!)

I have two rescued dogs, and five rescued cats. As for my human family, I have three children.
I am happy and honored to serve on the SPCA board.

I’m pictured here with my two daughters Amanda and Annie.
