KIND NEWS is a publication of the National Association for Humane and Environmental Education (NAHEE). NAHEE is the youth education affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States. The KIND NEWS publication began in 1983. Each colorful issue contains puzzles, activities, project ides and articles about our world. Many educators find that KIND NEWS is a positive teaching tool helping to build children’s self esteem. One of its goals is to encourage good character in children with an emphasis on kindness to animals, respect for natural habitats, good citizenship, and peaceful conflict resolution. It covers many of the National Education Standards for the major subject areas.
The Aiken SPCA solicits classroom sponsorships ($30 per class per year) and promotes KIND NEWS as a teacher resource. We are proud to report that 7200 Aiken county children, grades K-6, currently receive this 4-page monthly newsletter.
