Spay and Neuter Services

Spay and Neuter Services

Combating Pet Overpopulation

Even with the most successful adoption program, pet overpopulation will continue to be a problem for our community without help from pet owners like you. If you do not plan to breed your pet, have them spayed or neutered to help avoid unexpected additions to the pet population.

Some other important benefits of spaying or neutering your pet are:

  • It does away with the possibility of unexpected litters
  • Your pet will be less likely to run away or wander too far from home
  • It helps reduce your pet’s urge to mark
  • Your pet’s temperament will be improved
  • The risk of cancer (testicular, mammary) is reduced
  • Life expectancy is increased

Aiken SPCA Spay/Neuter Services

The Aiken SPCA provides spaying and neutering services to help combat the extreme pet overpopulation problem in Aiken County. The spay/neuter clinic operates at our shelter three days per week and is open to the general public. Vaccinations, heartworm testing and feline leukemia/feline HIV testing are available in conjunction with the surgery. With our focus on spay/neuter services, the Aiken SPCA does not provide general veterinary services or vaccinations separate from surgery.

Pet owners interested in using our services are asked to fill out a surgery form and return it to the shelter with payment in full before an appointment can be scheduled. There are three options available for these services. Regular cost surgery is available to all pet owners. Low-Cost and assisted services are also available to pet owners with limited incomes, as described below:
